An exploration of space and the consciousness of the self is what drives my work. I am curious about how I physically fit into and connect with space and how a space is changed by my habitation of it. I create or define a space by fitting into pre-existing structures or by constructing objects directly proportional to my body's shape, size, or weight. I set out to produce that which can be interacted with by forming juxtapositions of movement and stillness, hard and soft, comfortable and uncomfortable, artificial and natural. From these interactions emerge conversations about strength in fragility, power in simplicity, and beauty in imperfection.
