An exploration of space and the consciousness of the self is what drives my work. I am curious about how I “fit” into and “connect” with space and how a space is changed by my “habitation” of it. I often create or define a space by fitting into pre-existing structures or by constructing objects directly proportional to my body’s shape, size or weight. I set out to produce interaction by creating juxtapositions of movement and stillness, hard and soft, comfortable and uncomfortable, artificial and natural. From these interactions emerge conversations about strength in fragility, power in simplicity, and beauty in imperfection.
